1973 Raleigh Tourist (Sold)
3-Speed Raleigh, very large frame, rod brakes, nearly perfect condition, Bottle generator both lights work, leather saddle bag, new tires/tubes.
Late 1940s - early 1950s "Roadster Model"
English 3-speed. Sturmey-Archer AW internal rear hub. All original and complete except new 26 x 1 3/8 tubes, aftermarket grips (Sears - probably from the 1960s) new aftermarket frame pump, new genuine Raleigh front rod brake pads.
Un-dated rear hub with metal oil port. Bottom bracket oil port, rod brakes, Mesinger saddle. Interesting original combination of blacked-out parts from World War II when chrome was expensive and too reflective.
Blacked out parts: rear hub ball cup, righthand rear axle nut, seat post, all rear brake linkage from the wheel to the handlebars, top tube metal cable wheel, entire front brake stirrup assembly,
seat springs, wire fender braces have traces of blackout paint.
Rear-facing dropouts with adjusters, bolted seatstay tops and bottoms. Pump bosses on down tube. The rear brake linkage is on the left side of the head tube, not the center as on later English rod brake cycles. Original paint still shows hand pinstriping. Upsidedown Sturmey-Archer thumb shifter mounted on the left.
Dunlop Champion block tread tires. Fender tails are gold, not white. Rides well.
