I have a Columbia Twosome that I just bought for 100.00. appears to have orig seats, grips, worn pedals, and very fat old tires. bike may have had a light repaint. I was told it was a 1950, but there's a Columbia decal rather than metal badge on the front. how can i determine age and value, even though i would never sell it at this point. it's a very heavy bike, but it's great. did i get a good deal. the bike's tires were flat, but i took apart, put back in, and they hold air just fine. bike is very clean overall with some rust, pitting, and scratches. i love this bike.

Values are tough on tandems because they're so hard to ship. If you want to sell one, it's best to do it locally. Of course, that means you have to find someone local who WANTS it! In general, assume that what YOU paid isn't much different from what someone else might pay.

MISC:   Westfiled Compax 3 Paratrooper Info needed posted by: Bob Stopka on 8/20/2008 at 9:50:27 PM
Hi, I am looking for some information on a Westfiled Compax 3 Paratrooper 26 inch folding bike (the split in two kind) that I recently came across. The sn is L1152, which, from reading another archived thread means it was produced in 1947 I believe, as the other thread shows G=1942, A=1936. Can someone please confirm ? Also, the ID tag on the neck actually says Wesstfield Compax 3 Paratrooper. What does the 3 signify ? The fenders are chrome, and the frame is repainted gold by the current owner, but he says the frame was bare steel color or maybe brushed alluminum or silver originally. I think the tires were firestone 1.25 x 26. It does have an original light on the front fender, which is long and oval, with a square rocker slide switch on top, which slides front to back. Am I correct to assume they carried over the "paratrooper" name for marketing purposes after WWII ? It is in overall very good about a number 2, with 1 being the best and 5 worst. Last, any guestimation on a value ? Thanks for the help in advance.

I recently obtained a Columbia Twosome bicycle, model # NU24208. I can't really find any information about it. It is missing the front brake, the rear handlebar grips are not original, and the front seat is a little chewed up -- I was looking to do a restoration, and I was wondering if anybody knew what/where I should be looking at. Thanks!
