Does anybody have any information on a Road Puppy folding bike that was made in Japan? What is the value and where can I get parts for it?

Ron, found the following info at http://derbyking.com/detail/?n=190 and they are asking $186 for the one they have. They report: "Cleverly designed and executed with the materials and technology of the times (1935-1953 is our guess), this 14 x 1 3/8" wheel portable folds as small as any modern bike. The wheels take hook-bead tires, which are held on by both a pronounced bead and a flap of tire rubber underneath the tube. A carry-handle is mounted behind the seat post;unfortunately for modern man, it is a one-handed handle attached to a two-handed weight. The patented design Puppy was made in Japan by the Shimura Seki Co.Ltd.

I have an King Lion tandem. Trying to find out as much info as possible. Is there a "tool" to air up older tubes (not a schrader valve)?

Thank you for your time.

You bet. Some pumps accommodate all three types:

Check with your local bike shop.

MISC:   Phillips vintage tandem bike posted by: Jerry on 7/25/2008 at 9:24:46 PM
I have an old Phillips Tandem bike. I have no idea of it's age. It has rods instead of cables for the brakes. The cranks actually say "Phillips" in their construction. I took the bike apart several years ago in a process to just clean it up, but I do have all the parts. If anyone is into old Phillips bikes and knows enough to pinpoint a possible year, please email me back to discuss. I plan to get back to this cleanup restoration soon or at least to put it back together. Sorry, I have not included any pictures, but I can probably do that after some discussion. Thanks, Jerry

MISC:   Schwinn Town/Country Eccentric BB Adjustment posted by: Steve on 7/19/2008 at 9:16:23 AM
I have freind who's family bought a Schwinn Town and Country tandem new back in 1954 and a couple days ago I got to ride it. I noticed that the chain between the front and rear cranks slapped on the chain guard. The front BB is eccentric with pinch bolts in the shell. If I loosened the pinch bolts could I rotate the BB to take up the chain slack or is there a special tool that is needed to rotate these cups?

Also the cranks say Made in England Brampton, who made these?

Brampton were a well known UK cycle component maker, lug sets bearings etc. Adjust your eccentric as you suggest, it could be fairly tight, there should be about half inch adjustment, if the chain is too slack you can remove one link. Set the cranks parallel pointing in the same direction each side.
