Any information about an Oskaloosa Special rear-steer Tendem would be appreciated. What kind of pedals, where do I find tires for the metal clad wood wheels, etc. Thanks to all you out there......Ollie

Forgot to say---Tufo tires also make a glue on tire in a wide size---28 to 32 maybe 38 that also would work but not as good a real single tube tires. These are wide 700s which are the same size as old 28 inch single tube american tires. The old tires had a stiffer sidewall and would stand up a bit better but the glue on 700s do fit the rim.You would need the widest one you can get.

MISC:   Odd Folding Bike _ECHA - 2 (SP?) posted by: Mike Baldwin on 5/5/2007 at 4:07:31 AM
I bought an odd 20 inch folding bike at Saline last weekend. The first letter on the only identifying frame decal is obscured. It reads, _ECHA - 2. The bike has standard (BMX) 20 inch wheels, single speed coaster brake, cottered crank, and as my lovely assistant noted while pushing it back to our van, weighs a freak'in ton. I've been all around the net, searching every folding bike link and have yet been able to identify this beast. Anyone got an idea? Sorry, no picture at this time. Best Regards Always - Mike Baldwin

FYI - I just finished making my odd ball folder even more odd...I hacked off the rear triangle and brazed in a replacement from a 21 speed WalMart youth MTB...I didn't bother with a front derailer (SP?) so it's a 7 speed with 3 ranges...PS - Brazed it with 1/8th solid brass rod, boric acid and MAPP gas with Turbo Tip...Best Regards Always Mike Baldwin

I trying to locate a source for bicycle tires and tubes that are 10 inch by 1 5/8 inch. They are on a child's folding bicycle called a Brevettata Graziella made in Belgium and purchased in Italy some 30 years ago. The tires have the tire size in inch measure. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

A service-oriented bike shop should be able to help you if anyone can. If you don't have one locally try

MISC:   Pump Repair posted by: Thom J. on 4/20/2007 at 9:57:09 AM
I have the need to repair the tire pump on my Raleigh Twenty. It doesn't pump air. I've taken it apart and am not sure what to look for to replace or repair; it's so simple it's confusing. Anyway, does anyone have knowledge on how and what to repair/replace or a link to info on doing the same? Tried Sheldon's site but didn't see anything in detail. Thx in advance for your help. Thom.

Only real ware part on a pump is the "pump washer" ---bluemels sold replacement leather pump washers for their pumps. Not sure if your pump has a leather or rubber Pump Washer. It's the part on the end of the plumger rod--once you have the rod out of the pump cashing.Does your's have a leather or rubber and does it un-screw?---sam

I have the tin of pump washers made by Dunlop. I will look and see if there are any leather washers left in the tin. It's a large tin. Seems Dunlop was into bicycles big time back in the day.

Thanks for the replys. I've opened the pump and on the bottom of the plunger there is a neoprene "O" ring that looks like it would hold something in place; probably the leather washer. But, I'm thinking that the neoprene "O" ring may be the "modern" replacement for a leather washer. Thanks for your help so far. Thom.

I figured it out. The neoprene "O" ring takes the place of the old leather washer. Went to my local OSH and selected a new "O" ring similar in size to the old one. Put it on, applied a little lube and the pumps works good as new. Dang these old bikes are great. With a little care they seem to go on and on and on and on. Thom.
