| I am trying to fix a nut my local repair shop stripped when they serviced my nephew's folding Raleigh. The nut is 27 tpi, but I cannot find which type of thread it is so that I can order or make the nut. It appears to be close to .404 may diameter on the thread of the shaft. Help! Please remove the {remove} in my email to make it work. by: 69.63.48.214 |
| Is this a nut for the axle? I think Sturmey axles are 26 tpi, which means you won't find nuts to fit them at the hardware store. Call around to some less ham-handed bike shops and see if they have axle nuts for SA. You can always get them mail order from harriscyclery.com or many ebay sellers. And there's probably someone two doors down from you with a whole cellar full of old English bikes and a drawer full of them! by: 216.15.114.27 |
