I have an old bike that I want to find out more about. I haven't been able to ascertain who even made it, but this is the info on the bike: Made in Holland 'columbus' Aachen B Kapellenstr. 35 There is an old lock with key attached 'Trelock' The tires are newer and they say 'Schwabbe' It's one of those bikes whose brakes work by peddling backward. Thanks by: 75.162.177.42
"Schwalbe" is a good-quality European tire brand (means Swallow). I suspect your bike may have been sold by a shop in Aachen located at Kapellenstrasse 35 (35 Chapel St). Obviously made in Holland, where bikes are widely used. Happy riding. by: 216.15.114.27

Does anyone know where I can find out about an old tandem bike I am trying to restore. It has Walton @ Brown crank cases Made in England. The serial # 6864 is located under the front crankcase. It has a murrow hub that was made in 1941 but may not be original. I would appreciate any insight. by: 64.12.116.16
Post a picture. I don't know what you mean by "crank case." by: 216.15.114.27
I agree.we need pis to ID it---and most English built tandems were built from Kits sold through bicycle supply houses like Brown Brothers. We still might be able to tell the age or make. You can also email me a pic if you want to---sam by: 69.149.105.249
