Hi guys,
I found a Peugeot Cadre Allegre NS dumped on the side of the road.
It folds and is very cute. Are they worth doing up, are they very common.
Thanks for any info.

I also have one of these that was found dumped a few years ago. I am getting ready to restore it. It is missing a few components namely the dynamo/generator and front headlight - trying to find out what model the originals would have been? And where to look to source the original componentry that needs replacing. Also mine is marked FU22/5 on the chrome chainguard which none I've seen pictured have ' maybe the Australian model # ???

Any info would be much appreciated

Cheers

Nice looking tandem!
Never heard of "Russ". Where were they made?
Are those 28" wheels? Is that a rear derailler with a top tube shifter? How much of that cycle is original?

http://www.classicrendezvous.com/British_isles/Russ_Ernie.htm
This Ernie Russ racing tandem was built in London 1936.It has Chater Lea lugs, headset,& BBs.Built with reynolds"High Manganese" tubing.and cyclo twin wire derailer.Only one other Russ tandem is known and it's a lady-back style.
The frane, fork, headset, seat posts, and derailer are original to the bike.I have the original hubs also but they are being worked on.Seats, handle bars, paint, decals, wheels, and tires are replacements(make-dos) as well as the chain sets which are williams. The original hubs will be lased to sun rims.it's original tires were mostlikely dunlop Tandems in 26" size. The new sun rims will be 26X1&3/8.
The light is from the 30s also but not original to this bike.

FOR SALE:   Tandem bicycle side by side posted by: Ed on 2/10/2007 at 7:14:12 PM
I have an odd tandem side by side. This is maybe 10 years old. This needs some minor work that I am able to do before Spring. This thing weighs about 90lbs. Shipping would be expensive. It would be a super parade bike. Ed
