MISC:   Schwinn Paramount Tandem posted by: Matt Sherman on 10/30/2007 at 8:02:09 AM
I have a staff member who is trying to get information about this Schwinn Paramount Tandem. The number on the head tube is LG130839. She is wondering when it was manufactured and trying to get an idea about it's worth.
I didn't see this kind of number on the serial number chart and wondered if anyone could help?

Thanks so much!

I've been waiting for an expert... which I'm not. I gather that Paramount goes by different rules, but the tandem may be a separate deal anyway.
I'd like to see closeups of the headbadge and the seattube graphics. Does it say where it's made? Is there anything to indicate what tubing was used? What cranks and derailleurs are on it?
IF the number is a Chicago Schwinn number, it's December 71, which would be consistent with the move to the headtube listed as 72. That's a nice bike. Its value can only be determined at auction, but that big PARAMOUNT on the downtube doesn't hurt. If you ebay it, point out that it can be upgraded by fully reversible means to a level comparable to modern machines going for a couple of grand...

FOR SALE:   Monark Tandem Bike posted by: Maureen on 10/9/2007 at 10:31:14 AM
I have an old Monark tandem bike and I am trying to get some information about. I don't know if I should hang onto it and get it fixed up or how much if might be worth. It is not in the greatest shape, a little rust, but it looks solid.
Thanks Maureen

MISC:   Rallye Tandem -??????? posted by: Josh Barber on 10/2/2007 at 11:14:35 AM
I picked up this vintage tandem and can't find any information on it. It's a Rallye, green, I think from late sixties or early seventies. It has a sticker on the down tube with German writing. I found a few German bicycle webpages when I searched for it online. Does anyone have any idea where, when, what and how much?
