WANTED:   23" tires/rims anyone? posted by: Glenn on 10/27/2003 at 1:16:29 AM
Hi folks, I found a super old 50's motorized bike by Motobecane, that has 23 inch tires and rims! I am not experienced with vintage bikes at all, does anybody know of a source for these? I'm thinking I will have to convert over to 24", it appears the bike can handle the extra inch diameter. I got to do something, the rims are so rusty, and the tires shot! Anybody have 24" by at least 2" chrome rims available in case I can't find 23"? Thanks to all replies, I appreciate the help! Take care, Glenn (Detroit)

I have acquired a vintage Phillips(Nottingham)women's one speed bicycle. It is a beautiful blue with a tire pump attached. The serial # is 3356690, and there is a sticker on it that says 'Oxford House Sales and Service, Brighouse and Richmond'. Can anyone help me to further identify this bike, it's age and approximate value?. Thanks, Pam

WANTED:   Western Flyer Ramrod II posted by: Bill on 10/3/2003 at 1:35:17 PM
When I was a kid I worked all summer for my dad for a quarter an hour to pay for this bike. He saw I wasn’t going to have it paid for by the end of summer and gave me a raise to 50 cents an hour. I got the bike and had many years of enjoyment with it, but when I was old enough to drive it was left to rust. Not realizing the rarity of it at the time, I ended up giving it along with several other bikes to an overseas charity that a member of my church belonged to. Now I want it back and will have to pay for it all over again. I can’t even find a picture of one on google but I am sure there has to be some out there that need a good home, and I hope you can help me find it. They made a regular ramrod and a ramrod II but I don’t remember what the difference was, probably insignificant. It is a chopper bike with long front forks. (Close to West Virginia would be a plus)

Thanks

Bill

SWAP MEETS:   Trexlertown, PA Swap posted by: Rich on 9/29/2003 at 2:46:08 PM
I know that Trexlertown happens the first weekend of October. Is it on Saturday or Sunday??

RE:SWAP MEETS:   Trexlertown, PA Swap posted by Jeff Bikeguy on 10/1/2003 at 2:25:44 AM
The Trexlertown Velodrome swap meet is this Saturday, October 4th. The show will be huge if the weather is nice. It is mostly newer stuff and track bikes but there's always a little bit of everything there. A must-see for anybody that likes bikes. The Goodwill fire company Classic/Antique show is Sunday, October 5th. This is for all the old stuff and again, if the weather is nice there will be an excellent turnout. Plan a weekend getaway and hit them both!
The shows are within walking distance of each other. Too bad they're not on the same day!
