| Are you using a chainwhip? It's really the only way to get one off. You might be able to bring it to your local bike shop and have them remove it. |

| Most any spray can primer you buy in a Walmart or hardware store will be fine. |

| Depending how much of a perfectionist you are... Etching primer then Flat primer would work well. Good luck |
RESTORATION TIPS - MISC: Derby Brand Vintage 50's Bike

| I was just given a red and whote bike that is marked Derby. I was told it was early 50's. I can't find any inforamtion on the maker or what year or origin of this bike . Its in pretty fair shape without rust so Im curious if its worth do the little restoring. I know it gets costly we have restored Many Schwinn Cruisers and a tandam over the years as a family but this one is going to be my own personal project. Any info that you have or a actual like that has Derby brand bike of it would greatly be apreciated. Even a stock photo of the bike so I can restore it.
