I have a 20" girls slik chick i believe with single speed bendix brake. I found an axle with all of the New Departure hardware on it except hub and rim. I was wondering if the New Departure brakes are better and if it will fit in the Bendix style hub. Thank you. by: 69.21.154.64
I recently acquired a Huffy Dill Pickle girls bicycle at a storage unit auction. I've checked everywhere on the internet and e-bay and i can't find any information on this bike at all. I even contacted Huffy with the serial number and they have no information about this bike at all. I'm thinking it wasn't a very good seller considering the ugly green color and not many were made. It was made in the factory at Azusa, California. The numbers on the bottom of the bike are 2W354858 and the numbers 2029 underneath. Also scratched or engraved underneath are the numbers Y564814. Does anyone out there know what year this bike was made, how much it may be worth and how many were made? Any info would be greatly appreciated. by: 207.200.116.195
Randy I had a Huffy Dill Pickle when I was a kid, I got the bike in 1974 or 1975. Mine was a boys bike. I don't remember ever seeing another one around. I don't know if this helps but I lived in the Los Angeles CA area at the time. I have also tried to find info on these bikes with no luck. Mike by: 161.215.18.51
I too had a boy's Dill Pickle that I got in about 1974 when I was living in Sacramento. I think my parents got it at Toys 'R Us. These are the only others I heard of, I don't think too many were made. I haven't been able to find it in any catalog I have of the period, nor have I ever seen reference to one on eBay or anywhere else. I would do almost anything to get one. Azusa was the California factory of Huffy from about the mid-60's to the mid-70's (the main one being in Ohio). I believe it was the original factory of a company called "Wheel Goods" or something like that that Huffy acquired. by: 68.162.255.4
I too had this bike. I received mine as a gift from my mom and dad when I was about 5 in 1975. I lived in Walla Walla Washington then. It was green and had a banana seat which was black with two green stripes down the middle. I remember it also had monkey-hanger style handle bars with black grips. I was the first one on my block to ride a "big" bike without training wheels------good times!! by: 67.168.219.93
I will buy a boys dill pickle. Who has one? Im in Oregon. I had one when I was a Kid in Portland Or. In 74-75?! It took one too many "Ghost Rides" Into the tree in my front yard. I would buy one for sentimental reasons. Let me know if you Have one, & what you want for it. Send some pics? Thanks. markbooth68@hotmail.com by: 67.170.141.66
Can a single speed Orange Krate be converted to a 5 speed with relative ease? by: 64.12.116.139
Not really. The problem is mounting a rear caliper brake and also the spacing between the dropouts has to be wider. by: 63.102.203.28
I always say, 'Anything & everything is possible;' on that note I'm saying that a 5-speed conversion can be done, but it won't be easy unless you know how to go about doing it. by: 199.179.238.52

Go to Walmart and check out the Jesse James chopper bicycle. They run at about $150. They are a little bigger that the stingray, And a grown man would look better on one. You might also check out the new Stingray spoiler. But they're expensive. by: 198.69.103.180
