Hello All, I have found this old junker, I am including a photo. It appears to be an italian bike. I am wondering if it is restorable. It looked like the rims where sitting in a puddle for a long time. What would be the best way to remove the rust from them? Thank you...
Sorry the address is not working for the picture, it can be viewed at http://www.nova.edu/'andrew/100_7028b.jpg Thanks again for any help.. by: 137.52.200.219
I do not know why it is putting a single quota that should be a tilda which is above the single quote. by: 137.52.200.219
Well, for some reason this site does that to certain characters. I did see the machine (by putting the tilde in there in place of the apostrophe). Later! Larry "Boneman" Bone by: 69.39.168.129
As to the condition of the rims... OUCH! But... the front appears to have a very nice drum brake, so definitely I would do what I could to clean them up. As rusted as they are... and it's somewhat hard to tell but they look rough.... Is there any signs of chrome under that rust? You may have to go the naval-jelly, stripping route and paint them up silver... then clearcoat over the silver to make the presentable. Good luck! Larry "Boneman" Bone by: 69.39.168.129
Lets see if this works.
Yep, it seems anything with a tilde gets changed to a single quote. Can this be fixed? by: 63.102.203.28
