| The Wastyn that is posted on ebay is mine. The short version of why I ended it early the first time is as such: This bike was given to me by a man who has recently passed. I had the bike for a few years and I decided to sell to make space. I put it up for auction and that started me thinking about the man who had given it to me, and I decided not to sell. I was then given a few smaller items from his estate that I could display easily and I decided that I would relist the bike. As far as it being a Wastyn-The man who gave me the bike lived in Chicago from birth until 1960 or so. He had shown me pictures of the bike dated 1936. And he told me that he bought it from a friend a few years before the picture was taken. I sent the same pictures that I used in the auction to Scott Wastyn and he replied that it was built by Emil Wastyn in the late 20's or early 30's and that the label was an early label. So my information on the bike is as such--I have an early 30's late 20's bike with a Wastyn Special label that Scott Wastyn believes was built by Emil Wastyn. I am not a bike guru nor am I trying to deceive- anyone who can tell me what make the bike is besides a Wastyn is encouraged to do so. I am stating all that I could find out about the bike. There are people who tell me it is a Wastyn and some who say it is not. Since I do not know either, I trust whoever would want the bike would know what they are buying or at least know more than me. I hope that clears the air. And sorry about any confusion. by: 98.223.194.200 |
