I had one of these. They are OK bikes - but nothing special, or collectible. It's probably from about the mid-1980's. Search the archives......search the internet.....there is some information. The Tunturi company made fitness equipment. by: 68.222.150.175

I recently picked up a Giant RS 940 (off a trailer heading to the scrap metal yard). It seems like a pretty nice bike, 4130 CrMo, 700c wheels (rear is a Maillard hub - but not helicoil), 12 speed indexed downtube shifters on bosses. Guessing from the component dates, it is from late 1988, early 1989. Is it worth "restoring" or fixie material? I'm not at all familiar with Giant. by: 67.72.98.45
Giant's a big Pacific Rim manufacturer with lots of retail sales in Canada. Your bike is likely early in their development but I wouldn't hesitate to do whatever you want with the bike. Does it have horizontal or semi drops for a fixed wheel? If so, why not? by: 24.224.141.224
i picked up a Raleigh Technium Olympic 18 sp.it says raleigh u.s.a.Previous owner said it was a good roadbike in the mid 80's.He also said Raleigh made a bike called the olympian which a cheap junky bike and to avoid.Any additional info on the bike as to weight ,etc .is much appreciated by: 76.197.147.248
I have a near new condition Raleigh DL-1 "Tourist" with enclosed chain, and the original chain guard. Really like new(I'll supply photos if any one's interested). I would like to trade for a vintage road race bike(1950's-early 1960's), or a Raleigh club racer. Neither need be in like new condition, I am looking for something not perfect, but usable, and in reasonable condition. Any interest? I also have all the original brake /handle bar components for a rod brake Raleigh roadster( bars, rods, yokes, pads, fulcrums, in reasonably good condition. I need classic mid seventies Dura-ace brake levers/hoods, and a pair of old style Dura ace hubs(especially if laced to reasonable but not neccessarily perfect tubular rims) same vintage. I want to restoe my AD Vent Noir. by: 68.37.243.33 by: 68.37.243.33
I would like to see the photos. What size is it? Thanks! by: 64.105.24.2
Is anyone familiar with the early 90s Super Sport? Who made it, what is frame material? Any good? Etc. Thanks by: 216.15.114.27
I believe the Super Sport was pretty decent in the Schwinn line-up. I would suspect it is made from Columbus Tenex Tubing. I had a Schwinn Tempo from around that time period - and I believe it was Comumbus Tenex tubing. I have a Super Sport from 1983: it is made with Tange 2 (Butted) Champion tubing. If you could find an old catalog, with specs - would be your best bet. I know older catalogs and specs are easier to find.....but stuff from the late 80's and through the 90's - I have a hard time finding information. by: 198.175.154.213
