early sixties- it's Murray built, first cousin to the Flightliner, and in remarkable condition. Those saddles are getting rare, as are the bow pedals. Yours needs a fender, and they put the same ones on a lot of different models so you should be able to find one- the points in the rear dropouts will help you identify possible donors... by: 209.7.150.163

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. by: 69.88.216.220
Want to apologize to any former Huffy employees out here. I don't mean to make light of what was done to you. I just meant that shunning the bikes you made, that have already been bought from huffy and are now in yard sales and whatever really isn't going to do much good. These bikes mean nothing to the company. They are not seeing any of that sales action. Unless you could and do still get parts for it from them. So don't. But I think in most cases you can usually get that through an ebay seller or the like. That I wouldn't think would get back to huffy either. by: 69.88.216.220

Someone named Elliott apparently cares enough to post. I for one think anyone who wants to learn more about the history of American bikes should ask questions without having to fear being flamed. Sorry, George, I don't have your answer but I'll watch for someone to post it. by: 209.7.150.163
i am looking for a vintage raleigh rod brake bike in excellent condition. 23 inch or smaller. thanks. jim at 612-743-4420 by: 63.228.28.107
| Hi Jim, I just picked up a bike that may be what you're describing. It's a Raleigh 3 speed with a chrome rod brake linkage and the brake pads applied to the underside of the 28" rim. It's in pretty good shape but measures 23 1/2" or 60 cm. c-c. It's a neat old bike but unfortunately too big for me. if it's something you might be interested in, shoot me an email.
