Is there any intrest in a ladies 1964 dunelt with a sturmy archer 3-speed hub? Bike is complete and in ridable condition. Pretty much all original. Any help would be great. Thanks! by: 76.171.23.107
A picture would go a long way in helping identify your bike.I have never heard of Dunelt. It may be an off brand Raleigh or CCM.Sometimes bikes are made for specific customers(Department or Hardware stores).I have a 1963 Freimart(w/Sturmey 3speed). It was built by CCM for the Freiman's Department store(Canada).Maybe try Googling Dunelt and see what you come up with. But you really should post some pics. by: 209.71.219.139
Boy did I call that one.I was bored and decided to find some info for you. Here's what I found....... Dunelt Unlike many cycle companies which began building bicycles, then built motorcycles, and even made automobiles, Dunelt began with automobile production in 1919. "For a year or so the company concentrated on producing components for the motor-car manufacturers but then gradually swung over to the sister industry, and finally developped as manufacturers of Dunelt cycles and motor cycles". In 1958 Dunelt bicycles were sold in the United States by the G. Joannou Cycle Co. in New York, and by Cycle Associates in Miami. Dunelt also made motorcycles. Like many of the smaller bicycle companies in Britain, the company was bought by Raleigh, who marketed their bikes under the Dunelt name. by: 209.71.219.139
