recently got a galaxy flyer made by western autoit is girls bike any info would be apprecated by: 207.200.116.69
Western Auto didn't make it, just sold it. Might be a Murray- compare to Flightliner, JC Higgins, and other chain stores like Firestone etc. A dead giveaway is a dropout that comes to a point behind the rear wheel; another good feature to compare to identify manufacturer is the chainwheel. You could post a picture for us to look at. by: 209.7.150.163
I have 2 old Schwinn bikes I got from my Aunt when she passed away. One is a female Schwinn Breeze, Serial # FK603510, tires are 26 x 1 3/8, the other is a male Schwinn Speedster, 3 internal speeds, tires are 26 x 1 3/8, serial # FK525780. Everything on them is original, seats are in good shape too. I would like to know how old they are and how much they're worth. If anyone out there has any idea, please email me ASAP. Thank you, Tom Dazzi by: 71.105.143.241
FK is June, 1974- see the serial numbers page on this site. Condition is of course the prime factor in value, but even an extremely clean one may not bring more than 50 bucks (although you never know). I tried to get 50 for a similar Breeze, very clean, on ebay without success. The Speedster will bring a little more. Of course a local buyer doesn't have to pay shipping, which tends to be nearly as much as the bike is worth in these cases. I believe the "lightweight" tire size hurts these bikes' popularity with collectors. Not particularly rare or collectible, but they are the predecessors of the current townie/comfort bike craze, much nicer to ride than most. No way you can replace them for what you'll get for them. by: 209.7.184.147
Do you have any photos of your speedster? If not, what color is it? If you are local, I might be interested. I am in south Florida. by: 69.180.120.179
