My father restored this older Murray girls bike for my daughter some yrs ago...we think he told us it was a '41/42 but we really don't know. Tire size seems to be 20 x 2.125, cargo carrier, and small torpedo shaped chrome headlamp. We did find a picture of a larger 1955 murray in the picture archives which looks very similiar to our little bike. This bike is just going to rust away, as our daughter is older now. We would like to sell it for reasonable value...or is this bike a dime-a-dozen yard sale item?? Any input would be greatly appreciated!! thanks ben/oregon by: 216.134.173.99
I have a male Schwinn bike that is in good condition and I believe it has all it's original parts. I would like to have more information on it. I have tried to use the web site, but do not get results. On the front tire is the following: "Schwinn Puff High. High pressure. Road Racer. CF5 0276". On the rear tire: "27 X 1 1/4 to fir S-S Schwinn tubular rim or K-2 rim. Made in USA". The serial # is JJ593322 (I am certain of most of the #s, but they are hard to read because they are in a space that is hard to see. The bike has orange paint and there is orange tape (matching) on the handle bars. There is a decal giving the bike shop that sold the bike, but I could not find it listed in phone book. Can anyone tell me what it is worth and more detail about it? From what I could find on this site, it could be a 1970 or 1973 bike. I can add a photo later if needed. by: 4.225.246.193
it could be anything. Look it up on http://www.geocities.com/sldatabook/cover.html to find what model it might be. Probably 1973. Not likely to be valuable, but the better ones in good shape are interesting... by: 209.7.150.163
Thank you for the information and the site. I found a 1972,73 and a 74 Paramount that were listed as road racers with high pressure tires and came in the orange color. Now I need to find out how much to sell it for. Any advice or interest from anyone? by: 4.229.239.83

I have a 19sixty something Schwinn. I would like to find out if there are resources for retrofitting this bike to a modern single speed / mountain bike style. Maybe even perhaps adding mounts for v brakes or discs. I basically would like to get a updated seat, so i would need a new style post. Also possible a flat straight handle bar. by: 70.137.153.20
Looking for grips and sadle for Schwinn Flying Star. Can anyone help? Thanks, Gene by: 205.188.116.69
I have vintage grips, or your LBS probably has them new in every color of the rainbow- they started making repro in the 'script' style again some years ago. Saddles are more problematic. by: 209.7.150.163
