| Hello there I own an old italian bicycle. It is labeled "Cicli Marisa Milano". Does anyone have informations about a bike like this? It has got - 26" wheels (steel), tires are 26" x 1 3/8 - rod brakes - no gears Im looking for new brake-rubbers (is that the correct word?), since the old ones are no longer of any use. | I have a Monarch Tandem Bike that we would like to sell. The bike nameplate shows 'Monarch' and 'Chicago' with a lion's head in between. The serial number is 127289. The bike steers from both the front and back using rods that tie the two together. We have the original wooden wheels also. I was offered $350 for it but it should be worth more, don't you think? by: 64.5.100.226 |
| I am also told that this might be a special bike as it has dual control with both handlebars. Any one know anything?? by: 64.5.100.226 |
| Terri Lee, I was hoping someone with direct knowledge would jump in, but maybe I'll do for now. You have a rare bike. Value is only what you paid, until you sell, but your machine should be of interest to collectors. To start with, the dual control and wood rims both date it to before 1930, possibly well before. The Wheelmen's list of early bicycle brands shows six different makers using the Monarch badge around the turn of the twentieth century. I suggest you take lots of pictures and folow up at www.thewheelmen.org I'd like to see a picture too. good luck. by: 209.7.184.147 |
| Hello, I am glad to declare my interest in buying your BIKE, which you advertised for sale on the internet. Could you please let me know, if it is still available for sale at your disposal, and it's lasting price. I will be very happy if you can get back to me as soon as possible,on the following request as stated above. Thanks and Best Regards. Alex by: 195.131.84.204 |
