I've got another question, please. I also have a Girl's Western Flyer and am not sure how to identify it. I have found a set of #'s on the bottom of the frame near the crank...they are 2fc-2017. Does this mean anything? I've looked through the picture database and didn't see one that looked like it. Also, any idea on a value? It's in good shape. Thanks again for any help. Darrell
I have a few WF'er's, can only guess at their year's. It seems they began using a sticker instead of tin for a headbadge around 1970. The tin one's changed in style over the year's, each era had it's look. Is your's a balloon or MW? What's it worth? We want it to be more than what we paid for it. I have a nice early '60's girl's 26in. WF that I think is worth $60(US) on the right day on the left day's it's worth $30. Check ebay occasionally, maybe you'll see your model and track it's value.
I have a Schwinn Corvette, Serial #M913048 and would like to know what year it is and approximate value. It is in fair to good condition, all original, black. I checked the serial # information from this site and am not all that familiar with this stuff and I couldn't figure it out. I thought it might be a 1954...but I seem to have one too many numbers. Any help is certainly appreciated. Thank you, Darrell
The M9xxxx numbers are from the last week of September of 1954. Your number has one too many digits though. There should only be 5 digits after the M. Don't know what to make of that.
Oops, just re-read your post. I guess you already knew that.
Check out: http://www.angelfire.com/rant/allday101/SchwinnCodes3.html I believe you'll find it to be born on 12/02/59 Stacey
Thank you all so much for you help! Darrell
I have a vintage columbia tourist with a sturmey archer 3 speed. The bike looks like it's seldom if ever been ridden. a small area on the top tube the paints rubbed off, should be an easy fix for someone. The fenders will clean up easily, the tires are dry rotted. It's in amazingly good condition for it's age. Asking 250 for it. I have a bunch of photo's of it. A rare sharp Mixte bike. Contact David at: david5430@aol.com

It may not be there, buta good place to start might be http://www.velomobiles.net/ I got there via www.recumbents.com links and it looks like a good read- I'm going back.
I sold these in the early 70's. What kind of info are you looking for? I still have dealer service manual. Charlie
Hey Charlie I see where you replied on 12/20/03 but I can't figure out how to e-mail you back. You can e-mail me at the address above or leave me your address. I am looking for any info you have or can tell me where to get it from. I am 38 years old and remember when my grandparents bought this new. It has been hanging in a building for about the past 29 years and I have been trying to get it for about the past 15. It is in perfect condition. I have no desires to sell. Information if for my own knowledge. I have had many people ask me about it but I could not tell them anything more than I have told you. Would you be willing to part with the dealer service manual? I would pay of course. If not, could you maybe scan some manufacturer info? Do you know anywhere to get more info on this? I have been searching the web for about a year with no success until now. Thank you for your response. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Also, since you sold these, was this not a popular item? I have had the worst time looking for info.

I have a brown Schwinn World Tourist ladies 10 speed with the serial number G0XXX. This is a 5 digit serial number second digit being a zero located where the rear hub attaches to the bike. I have found no serial numbers smaller than 6 digits. Can someone help me please. I would like to know how to find the resource with this information and if you know the year, that would be great also. Thank you very much. Tammie
Tammie, where was it made? That model is not listed on the Schwinn Lightweight Data Book http://www.geocities.com/sldatabook/models.html between 1960 and 1979.
Well, it is metric, so I am guessing not in the United States. It has a Chicago badge also.
You left out the crucial info. What are the numbers where you put x's. I think the 0 and the first number are going to be the month, the last two will be the year. The G is for Giant who made the bike for Schwinn. Look closely at your headbadge also. You may find a small four digit number stamped into it. If it's there, the first three numbers will be the sequential day of the year and the last number will be the year. The decade is a guess but probably eighties.

Hi, I just wanted to post this here before going to eBay, I have a large assortment of solid tire bike wheels and new old stock tires for sale. There are around 50 used wheels, and a few dozen tires plus some old tricycle parts. I would say there's probably a good pick-up truck load all together. $80 takes all or none. Located in Southern NJ. Email me for more info. Thanks, Joe
