| Can't tell much from a serial number. What about tire size, frame style, etc. ?
Your best bet is to start looking in the Picture Database to find a similar styled bike.

| Sounds like classic Raleigh Sports 3-speed bikes. These are the hottest sellers I know of right now, and there's still a good spread between purchase and selling prices.
I'd guess a matched pair would sell for at least $300 |

| Start here, dave: http://retroraleighs.com/sports.html I think BillG may be a trifle optimistic, although condition can make all the difference. 73 is near the end of the English era. They're not rare, but on the other hand they ain't making any more of them. |

WANTED: Western Flyer Ramrod II
posted by: Bill

| When I was a kid I worked all summer for my dad for a quarter an hour to pay for this bike. He saw I wasn’t going to have it paid for by the end of summer and gave me a raise to 50 cents an hour. I got the bike and had many years of enjoyment with it, but when I was old enough to drive it was left to rust. Not realizing the rarity of it at the time, I ended up giving it along with several other bikes to an overseas charity that a member of my church belonged to. Now I want it back and will have to pay for it all over again. I can’t even find a picture of one on google but I am sure there has to be some out there that need a good home, and I hope you can help me find it. They made a regular ramrod and a ramrod II but I don’t remember what the difference was, probably insignificant. It is a chopper bike with long front forks. The closer to West Virginia the better. elsmitro AT lycos DOT com
Thanks
