| I just recently purchase a bicycle via ebay. It was discribed as a 70's vintage raleigh "space rider". It's for decorative purposes, but I'd like to know more about this bike. Was the $5.51 I paid for it a good deal? It looks like the condition is very clean with original paint, fenders, and saddle. It's also a single speed with coaster brakes?? |

| Colson bikes. Buy the book "Evolution of the Bicycle" volume two. There are a few good examples of Evan-Colson bikes, not to mention all of the other really cool bike from way back. If nothing else it makes for a great coffee table book. Good-luck.

| Use sewing machine oil.Comes in a small squeze bottle. Some brands have a small tube for hard to reach spots--like rear hub oil holes.Buy it where they repair sewing machines.About $2 a bottle.Use only a few drops each mo.Rear hubs should be cleaned and greesed, the oil is added each mo.to keep it lubed(not dryed out)---sam |

| 1978 Raleigh Super Grand Prix road bike. Very good condition, only a couple scratches, all but one frame decal is perfect, color is a champaign metallic and black. Brooks Professional saddle, Suntour V-Lux deraullier, Weinmann 610 brakes, Normandy wheel hubs, alloy crankset, 23.5" frame. A very clean bike. Made in England. Seriel #: WE8000209
It has a very cool 1977 Tour de France Team Winner decal.
The only mechanical problem is a rear wheel that is out of true and has a flatspot. I recently completely cleaned it, lubed the cables, etc. |
