| I'm looking for a rear carrier to fit on the back of a 24" typhoon frame......I'm looking for the kind you would have found on the back of a Varsity 10speed, they have a spring loaded arm that lifts up and holds down whatever you put under it.... Not like the old Phantom 9 hole racks. |

MISC: Poll

| We are way behind in getting the bulk of our inventory posted here, but we are working on it. With the spring bicycle season upon us, and trying to keep the occasional flame wars on these discussion areas extinguished, we're pretty busy.
In trying to find a better way to offer our products, we are looking into shopping cart applications. Here are two questions which will help us decide which way to go:
1) Is your web browser set up to run JavaScript? 2) Is your web browser set up to accept cookies? (the cookies would store your shopping cart items)
Thank You, Vin – Menotomy Vintage Bicycles http://OldRoads.com

| Hello Menotomy Vintage Bikes, To put my .02 in, and to attempt being helpfull, The bulk of pc users are running windows 95/98 and are set up as default settings to run Java script as well as accept cookies. The preferences can be changed but most people never look for them. So as far as the masses go, (web TV I don`t think runs java script) I think it would be a pretty good bet setting up the shopping cart in that way. Sounds like a great idea.
As for the brush fires, get a bigger extinguisher. lol, I won`t be posting for a while, so the cute little piranha`s will need to feed off each other instead of attacking me.Let them eat their own tails for now. Well that`s about it. Bye for now and I hope the nameless guys who are such smart a`s will give it a rest. |

| I think the majority of web sites today use javascript and cookies. Not a big deal in my opinion.
Any chance of you guys maybe writing a better query engine for your many years of archives while you're at it?

| Good Luck! It will take a bit of patience and digging. I don't know about Western Flyer but when I went searching for info about Schwin's ancient skip tooth tandems I found almost nothing on it. There was one picture in a book and no mention of it at all in the book. No pictures or descriptions or dates. Nobody answered my posts about it. The newer stuff like the mini twinn or Sting Rays are another matter there you can get answers. I probably have the cranks to your bike as I have hit a cache of ancient skip tooth cranks for tandems. I ask a friend and all he says is "Where did you find that" and he sits there looking at me. Now Western Flyer may be diffrent, perhaps it is covered more throughly and properly. Not many of these have survived as a tandem is large and difficult to ship and I think these had a harder time to survive than the solo bikes. Look in the bookstore in the bicycle section and they have a a bok section here at Old Roads. com. I would ask Memory Lane bicycle shop in Perrysburg Ohio or better still look them up on the web. You are at the right place here too. Get back to me and let me know how it goes. ChristopherRobin2@starmail.com |
