I have a 1887 54" Columbia Expert for sale. It was completely restored by a past commander of "The Wheelmen" in 1990 and is in excellent condition. I'm located in the central NJ area close to philly and NYC. If you want to view the bike you can access a photo at this address http://home.earthlink.net/'hksnj/columbia-big.JPG
Hi Larry: Maybe it is just that I am copy/paste challenged, but i couldn't get that address to work. ................dave
Dave, Try it again. Here's the address again: http://home.earthlink.net/'hksnj/columbia-big.JPG Yes!! those last 3 letters must be capitalized. Let me know if you have any luck. Thanks, Larry S
I received a 36 elgin girls bike in the mail today. When I opened the box the two piece head tube cover was in pieces.I can't back to sears,so could someone tell me where I could fined one? Thanks John
I would really appreciate any help available or a point in the right direction...So many of you guys seem to be more knowledgeable about the old bikes. I have come to possess what appears to be a 1952 Schwinn Fiesta..if I am reading the serial # chart right. Its in great shape with a rack on the back and a fender headlight. The seat and handles are in great shape too. Please help me find out what it may be worth and how can I sell it !!! Thank you....
I recently came across this 1965 Sears girls Spaceliner for 10$ and have decided to restore it. All in all it appears to be in good condition. I am looking for a tank and some unknown piece that fits onto the back rack, can anyone help me out? Is this bike even worth restoring? I believe it has the original tires. Also I am not positive on the date, it does have a 1958 plate on the back which through me for a loop. Thanks to anyone that can assist me. Denise
Definitely a keeper. The unkown piece for the back rack was probably the rear tail light. It was an enclosed unit.
hi Denise - The bike sounds like a great buy at $10. The only problem is that Spaceliners had wimpy tanks, they were easily broken and are now hard to find. i only mention it so that you don't spend too much on the bike and never find a tank. You might just want to enjoy it as is knowing you got a great Sears bike for $10.
Original, good overall shape, some frame paint wear as can be expected from BMX bikes of this era. Minor seat tears at rear corners. Nice fenders & chain guard. Photos can be seen at http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1343105&a=11989699&f=0 $55 shipped in continental US.
I need one or two folding bikes for actual use. Preferably Raleigh three-speeds, but I am open to ideas. Willing to pay around $50.00 to $60.00 each plus shipping.
