Hi Sam,

By the looks of the fork tops it could be something from the Phillips family.

ENGLISH ROADSTERS:   Long time no see... posted by: Kurt K. on 4/20/2006 at 9:12:26 PM
Some of you may recall this bicycle from a few months back. Sold on eBay for $300+, if I recall, and the new owner attempted to sell it for $600 on Craigslist:

Curious starting price. Someone ought to flat-out ask him what his reserve is (Probably $600...).

Well... it's a VERY clean example of a 39 year old machine.... be it cleaned up or not. Still... yes... all too familiar. Actually... if you look at his location, "Berzerkely", California... that might just be a clue, eh?

Cheers!

Clean, shmhean, it ain't worth $600 bucks.

There are comperable Sports out there for far less. The only reason this bike previously sold well was via those whitewalls to a slew of know-nothing bidders.

I would agree as to not being worth $600 for sure. However.... sometimes a things "value" and what someone is willing to pay for it can be two completely different things. ;-)

"However.... sometimes a things "value" and what someone is willing to pay for it can be two completely different things."

That can also be said: "The value of an object may be slim to nil, but an fool might part with his money for it."

This side of the pond it would probably not fetch the equivalent of $300 and with certainty would not escalate to $600. That sort of price would be something far more desirable, a Sunbeam perhaps? Or a Warwick Ice cream tricycle (in need or restoration).

What a difference and ocean makes,

Aren't the fabled "R" nuts anachronistic? I thought they first showed up in the 70s, not 60s.

That is correct. It's been overly dressed-up.

Sorry, only joking, I couldn't make the link work when I tried. Please explain who Albert was?
