I just found out that Kryptonite is replacing all their U-locks with barrel-type keys (if you have the key with code). Other options of litigation are available. Check out: http://www.kryptonitesettlement.com/ or Kryptonite's website for details and instructions. Last fall, I had heard about picking certain ones with a Bic pen, but didn't realize the expanded coverage. by: 4.167.11.185
It's true and works quite well. 11 days after I 1st looked into this I had 4 new locks. You enter the lock models and serial #s online and they email you a prepaid shipping label to send your old locks in to them. As soon as they get them, they must ship out new ones. Must be costing them a mint. But in the long run I hope it pays off in customer loyalty by: 69.81.161.17
I too received 3 of the new locks...although it took almost 3 months. But they have now ensured, I remain a customer for life. Very few companies would have gone to the trouble. by: 70.51.138.194

Picked up a nice Raleigh Suberbe (late 60s I think) in that funky burgandy color. Someplace along the line the original guard got lost and replaced with a brown one. So I*m on the lookout for a burgandy chainguard in decent condition, let me know if you*ve got one you*d like to sell. Also: does anyone know how many years Raleigh made bikes in this color? Cheers, Geoff by: 207.200.116.139
Hi Geoff, I have never seen burgundy on a Sports/Superbe, but I do have two Raleigh Sprites in that color as well as four Schwinn World Tourists .... all burgundy. It turns out that once I have invested in a "rattle" can ($3.99) of a given shade, the subsequent availability of additional bikes in that shade for only $2.95 becomes irresistable. A good match for all of the above burgundies is FMC (Ford) 'dark red' also available as 'dark red metallic'. So if you have never used the word 'patina' and are unconcerned with offending collectors who do, feel free to make that chainguard match. by: 172.141.0.194
I thought some with our interest in bikes might want one of these. Go to this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=58062&item=7157823416& by: 65.101.0.176
Probably not a bad price these days for an older Sports in this otherwise nice condition. But the fact the seller went ahead and continued the auction without modifying the condition/description after I informed him of the bent fork is a little disappointing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6531356882&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT by: 69.236.26.237
Isnt it amazing the bikes you see on ebay with a bent fork and there is no mention in the description. by: 65.0.248.140
