I have a vintage circa 1950 Buzzboy motorbike kit which has a Power Products Model 1000 motor. I had this as a preteen in 1950's and recently put it on a 26 inch new cruser type bike and it is up and running. I would like to communicate with anyone else who has one (or knows of one) and trade information, pictures etc. I can not find any information on this motorbike kit or its company. by: 76.107.121.38
Don't recognize the Buzzboy name but The old Travis bike motor was made by power products and may be a close cousin. Look up Travis in the forums. by: 71.201.61.185

Good morning all. I want to try my hand at taking an older cruiser bicycle and mounting a 2-3 hp vert shaft gas motor on it. I have seen several pictures of these on the net. The rear drive pulley seems to be attached to the spokes. If someone could shed some light on what is used to attach the pulley to the spokes, I would be grateful. Thanks Keith by: 71.252.208.33
Most of the old motorbikes like Whizzer and Monark used the same type of sheave,or pulley, mounted on the spokes. the short bolts go through the sheave holes and a nut and special washer go on the back side. You can buy the mounting kits on e-bay, and sometimes the sheaves. New ones are available at Memory Lane. by: 67.174.17.187
keith, after reading your post, I noticed that you wanted to mount a 'vertical' shaft motor on your bike, a lot of the "experts" will tell you that it can't be done, to expensive, ect ect but i beg to differ, if you will log on to my myspace website at url/retired tinkerer you will find 2 bikes [pictures and videos] that i built for my son and one of his friends. both are powered by 3 1/2 horse b&s lawnmower motors and run about 25mph by: 209.143.60.154

Does anyone know where I can find information on the Bowen Motorized bicycles? I have one from around the 1930's and am trying to determine it's value. All we know so far is that the company mainly produced bicycles and produced a few motorized versions, but not a lot of them. If anyone has any information can they please email me on david_dixon@xnet.co.nz. Thanks, David. by: 58.28.52.16
