MOTORIZED BICYCLES:   GRUBEE STYLE ENGINE KIT Schwinn OCC Chopper posted by: shaun on 8/25/2006 at 1:45:05 PM
I've been surfing ebay, looking to sell my son's unused Schwinn OCC chopper bike. It is a heavy bike w no gears, so nobody rides it. I seeking a value, I came across some sellers of 'mounting kits' for gas engines on this bike.
Can anyone tell me where to get information about Grubee-style engine kits reported to work and fit well on this bike? Also interested in other engines (including electric) which might work as well. Thanks!!!!!

Here's a link to an article on the subject of those engines.

http://bikerodnkustom3.homestead.com/ArloLKraus_Interview.html

The Grubee version is the highest-quality of a type of generic Chinese bike engine made by many factories over there. There are good ones and bad ones, with an actual Grubee version being the most desirable. I haven't looked lately, but eBay was crawling with various versions of the engines, a while back. I've heard since that they have been outlawed from importation into the US, for some reason, and
existing stocks are the only ones available.

I built several of these and have tried to detail my experiences and information on this site:

You have to go back aways as the new posts do not bring the subject to the front page, as in many sites.
