Hello, I was wondering if anyone has done a install of a Skyhawk Engine and would know which direction the rear sprockt goes onto the hub. In the manual it says "dish side in" so I am assuming that means the concave side goes toward the spokes? This seems odd to me though because it woul seem I could get more clearance of the rear tire if I mount it the other way. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. by: 68.0.140.143
It depends on you clearance and alignment of the chain as to which side is out. Every bike is different. by: 69.34.207.57
The guy asking about a Saginaw products motorized bike...I have one. I have been trying to find out anything about it so I will know what I have, who sold them and their value. Its a blast to ride and is 100% original right down to the push-button battery powered horn in the metal can between your legs and fender lite! by: 68.191.116.206
I got this old bike last week and can not find who made it. I was told it looks like an old American made BMX(well there are alot of makers of them) serial number starts with 5 and has 7 all together 1 of the 7 is a letter(number is by back wheel on frame).fenders i think are mudguard. seat reads MX TROXEL and is black in GREAT Shape. The sticker on the seat bar reads AIM in small print and has a big black S under it. Guage looks like a classic old schwin stylehas SEARS on it. It is mens bike frame shape, closest i have found to it so far is the YAMAHA 1970???A model maybe?? Handel bars look like maybe GHP star bars or BMX freestyle(I realy have no idea). If you think you can tell me anything please do so.. I will send pics if you want to see it. by: 207.119.217.185
The guy we got it from said he got it at SEARS in 1962,just like it is?????? I dont think so i cant find it. If you have a link that shows the pic please let me know.

would you be willing to sell the coil off your amf thanks by: 207.118.203.37
I just got myself an amf moped. Has to be late 70s. Anyone know how to find out the year, I can't seem to find it. I've got little experience with engines, but this engine looks fairly clean. Willing to sell the entire moped also, doesn't start, don't know if it will, but numerous unattached wires definetly are a problem at the moment. Just post here again if you want to get a hold of me. by: 4.253.125.62
I just got out AMF moped running this last weekend. Found that if you don't hookup ANY wires to the engine then the spark plug will still fire. I also found that if you turn the engine with an electric drill motor that this is NOT fast enough to make a spark- I mounted the motor to the bike, wired the plug onto the top of the engine to watch it and peddled about 5 mph and it sparked fine, this turns it pretty fast. by: 130.76.32.145
Aaron: Regarding the year of your AMF moped; there originally was a sticker on the front of the frame where the fork mounts that says :manufactured by AMF, Olney Illinois, and a date. Mine says 3/78. The sticker also had the bike serial number. If the sticker isn't there, I don't know what else to suggest. Amybody know where to get a CDI ignition module for one of these things? by: 67.165.118.210

I picked up a 1978 AMF Roadmaster yesterday, and cannot get it running. I replaced the sparkplug and gasket. The common problem seems to be the spark plug wire. I know the generator works, as it does supply the headlight with electricity. How do I test the spark plug wire? If that is not the problem, then narrowing it down, it must be the carb....what work have you guys found to be the solutions to get the thing running? Hit me back, yo. by: 12.214.27.93
