At a yard sale last Sat. I saw an older but very good ondtion Raleigh BMX bike that I thought to myself was "old school". It had red anodised rims stem hub etc..., and was sound and ridable. The lady only wanted $5. should I have bought it?

Hey-I've been working on my old BMX frame, and I'm trying to figure out what it is exactly. Someone told me it's a Takara. Any Takara experts out here?
The only numbers I can find on it is a date 11-15-76.
Is there a way I can post a picture of it so you could help identify it? Thanks!

I have a pair of Takara Outlaw BMX bikes. They look like old Mongoose or Fuji MX500 copies. They have a big "T" cutout on the headtube gusset. I'm not an expert on these things but they were a good buy so now they live with me. I'm guessing they are from 1980 or so. JBG

the frame that matt has is a CYC Stormer, 2nd issue. nothing to do with takara. however, if you want to sell one of yout takara framesets, i might be interested. lmk.

I used to race a Takara outlaw bike. That was back in 1986 or so. I still have not forgiven my mother for not getting me something better. The bike must have weighed 75 pounds. I would like to see a picture if you have one. I have told stories about the old log I used to race with but I don't have any pictures. Not sure if I can help you though.
