What is the deal with people who take someones old post and puts another name on it? Do they not have anything better to do? This used to be a nice forum to discuss and sell old bmx stuff. Now you don't know who is who and what is what. I guess I am more disappointed that anything. As is the case in life, a few bad apples tend to spoil the whole bunch. To the legitimate old schoolers out there, keep on riding. To the phonies, may your pathetic lives be filled with even more emptiness and envy. Hey Fellow Freestylers:

I am an old school freestlyer/bmxer from NYC. I have a great bikestore down here in Miami that has some nice old school rides. I just bought a diamondback Mike Dominguez signature bike! I can't wait to hit the halfpipe on it. If you want an NOS freestyler from the 80s, email me. I've got Hutch, Redline (RL 20 II), GT and would love to put these bikes on the streets. Catch me before it goes elsewhere,

I'm sorry I even wasted my time reading all of the nonsense regarding Bill (real or fake). I've dealt with the real one. No complaints here. I appreciate any and all help anyone posts here. I'm sorry to see anyone turned off of this, or any other, bmx site. There's no reason for it. On one hand, it does stink when the frame of your dreams is pushed out of your price range on e-bay, but keep looking, you'll find another. And if you don't like high prices, don't pay them! But also don't be offended when people start wondering/talking about who/what/when/where/and why's regarding a huge stockpile of classic bmx stuff! I think most anyone still into riding/buying/racing/talking bmx after the age of 18 is in it for the fun of it. Let's get back to trading stories, and trading bikes, not lies.

Travis,
Sorry for offending you. I guess I made you so upset that you couldn't put together any coherent thoughts.
I was under the impression that this was a site for the exchange of old school bmx ideas, parts, info, etc..and that the
"Stephen" person was ridiculing David.
Gosh, I never knew that this exchange took place on another board and was being reposted here for a second round of laughs. It really is funny now. Write back when you calm down. BTW, you are very insightful in noticing my problem with humor, sometimes
even I can't even tell when I'm using sarcasm. But, to tell you the truth, I'm not very funny, but even I believe that the "mother" jokes are more than a little tired.. Again, I'm sorry for
offending you.

Steve,
Dude, I don't know if you saw my input on the message board but, yeah, I have been trying to locate any old magazines from 1982 that covered the TEAM MURRAY WORLD CUP OF BMX in Knoxville, TN.. I know there is a picture in either BMXA or BMX PLUS With me and my buddy John Kovachi coming around turn two. I would appreciate anything you could send my way or even sell(the whole issue).
Thanks and KEEP RIDIN'

David posted an honest request, and you had to go
and attempt to humiliate him.
Next time, try using a dictionary. Proper spelling
will give your message a lot more punch.

Apparently your life is not what you hoped it would be by
now, so you resort to ridiculing honest people and end up
looking very foolish in your attempts.

I sincerely doubt you were ever pictured
in a national bmx magazine like David.

Heck, I'd say if your writing is any example,
you were probably never even pictured
in a high school yearbook.

ginsu,
This was originally posted on another web site and someone pasted it here. You are correct in stating that someone does indeed have a spelling problem. It is nice to see that you lower yourself to make fun of the person who posted it. They merely copied and pasted something from the 'Back in the Day' BMX discussion site. Check it out if you don't believe it. I think that the person who posted the full dialogue here was merely trying to get a laugh (i.e. 'sense of humor'). Where is yours? It is good though to know that there are self righteous people like yourself to decide what is not appropriate. You keep the world in check. I could not imagine what your life must be like, being perfect and all. You sound like the load your mother should have swallowed.

ginsu,
What is your deal with the whole spelling thing? I not a betting man, but I would guess that you have no life either. You come to this discussion site, and talk about everything except bikes. Did you know this is a site that caters to bikes and their enthusiasts? Before you are so critical with spelling content, consider wrapping your lips around a barrell and think really hard about what you could do. Do you pull the trigger, or not? I'm sure you have good intentions, but you are coming off here as a total tool box. You sound really intelligent (joking!) and I would bet that you are a really important person. Just remember, you are not the only college graduate on this site, and that status matters very little when you want to discuss bikes. Ginsu, talk about bikes if you enjoy this hobby, and try using a real e mail address.

RE:RE:RE:I am sorry... posted by ginsu on 3/17/2000 at 6:50:26 AM
I never claimed to be an important person, a college graduate, or anything else. I am a former and now present bmx rider who has rediscovered the fun and friendship that bmx can bring and want a place to talk about bikes and I thought I had found one in this site. You are right, status doesn't matter when when it comes to bmx. It never has and it never will. I'm wasn't trying to be arrogant, I was just trying to point out that the same person is probably responding to their own posts and adding to the decline of this site. I agree with you again, that by responding I am adding to this mess. I will not post anymore unless it is related to bmx.
I will use my real e-mail address from now on, please try to do the same. Peace.

Wow BmX is alive and kicking on the old school front. I received mass responses on the listed items. I'd like to Thank all who inquired and I regret I can't help everyone like they sometimes expect. I'm in contact with about 150 collectors on a first name basis, So don't get offended when I post an item you may have wanted I like to test the waters sometimes on certain items. Anyways the Hutch mag/ti wheels are gone, the blue DK pros are gone , the Gold stickerset is gone, the blue/white, purple/white, and red/white pads are gone, the gold cages are spoken for, the Shimano wheels are spoken for. If any of these deals fall thru I'll contact the next person in line. Oh!.... the Chrome Hutch pads are gone too I had 7 inquiries on these alone. For those of you who are new to all of this my name is Scott Bender I'm 27 and have been into BMX since 1986 when Hollywood and Timmy were the bomb. I've never gotten out of bikes since , and I even survived the lean years of 88-93. If you need help locating items I sometimes can be of help, drop me an Email I usually respond right away, but sometimes I choose to think over questions and maybe I forget to respond. Oh the Hutchins pads are gone too. The SR speedtrap pedals are very cool , I encourage some of you to jump on this deal, these were the pedals Greg Hill used religiously in the early 80's. I'd be happy to send a pic I have 3 sets available. Also the Uni's even with alloy posts look almost identical to the graphite post ones and I encourage some of you to get these while you can since they are no longer in production.

Dallas - So you think I don't know my stuff??? So you think you do??? For one if you knew anything about BMX oldschool you would know what a 26" Moose goose was. It has a rare 6" headtube and a rounded rearend not like the newer gooses. Go read some oldschool BMX spec sheets before you try selling your goods here! Watch what you say, cause you never know who knows me and gossip spreads fast and like fire.

Hey Dallas, JMC went out of business in about 1985. They were located in Azusa Ca. JMC stood for John Mellencamp Cyclery, John closed down the company when his wifes' health was failing. I heard he lives in Missouri with Bill G. and won't admit to having a BMX company. There are no websites or anything like that. As far as value goes I've seen them go for as little as $10.00 to $350.00 for a frame and fork. So, realistically, your prices are not too high. I heard from Dean that your stuff is nice also. Good luck with selling it! It all depends on the value the buyer puts on it. I have two, a mini and a Black Shadow. The frames were cutting edge and pretty cool but most of them cracked. I would check the one you have around the downtube and headtube. Does yours have a round downtube or is it oval? Does your frame have a welded on seatpost clamp? and does it have the two chainstays going directly into the back of the bottom bracket or is there a square piece of steel welded behind the bottom bracket. I can help you figure out the age of your frame by these kinds of things. In have a bunch of ads I can look at. Decals are pretty difficult to get but I might be able to get some depending which ones you need. Dallas, I appreciate your honesty in posting, and please hold the Reline 3 piece cranks for me, or we can work out a trade!

AGE / VALUE:   Vector Mk2 posted by: Greg G. on 3/12/2000 at 6:47:05 PM
Further to my last message on VDC changa and Vector Mk2 race frame/forks:
I used to ride both of these in the mid eighties and I am currently building up a picture gallery of all my old rides that I should have taken photos of at the time.
The Changa was an odd looking beast with very oversized top and downtubes and the head tube went through the ends. You may remember VDC's 'Monkey Bars', well it looked like that but in frame form!?
The Vector Mk2 was also slightly unusal in that it had twin oval downtubes and was one of the first, if no THE first frames availible in black chrome (How good was THAT?).
If anyone has any photos or pics from BMXA, (perhaps you used to own one of these too) or can tell me where they were in CA. they were made, when the companies went bust etc.

AGE / VALUE:   bunny hoppin' back in the day posted by: ol~ buzzard on 3/12/2000 at 5:46:39 PM
I am 36 years old and have settled pretty well into a freestyle lifestyle, but still felt that something was missing.

About a year ago I climbed up into my attic and pulled out my 1986 Huffy Stu Tompson. I spent the better part of two days polishing all of the chrome on it. Now it looks like a new bike.

This bike has a 1986 frame and 1987 fork, both in chrome. The bars are Haro with the lowered crossbar in chrome. The stem is an SR Spin Tech with built in rotor, this thing works great! Headset is a Tioga Beartrap II, it still doesn't come loose. The cranks are SR tubular chrome moly, they still haven't bent. The wheels are Araya 48's with Suzue hubs and they still run true, got them from Frankford bicycle back in 87. I have the small short GT axle pegs in front and rear and have chrome framestands on the back. Front brakes are Dia Compe 883 Nippon and the rear is an ACS 890. The seatpost is a Dyno drainpipe and the seat was a Shotgun III. I finally had to replace the seat with some cheap thing I found at a local shop.

This bike was my whole life for so long, I can't believe I neglected it for nearly 13 years. After a few weeks of riding I found that I could pull off most of my old tricks, tailwhips, boomerangs, rockwalks, and several other old school balance tricks. When was the last time you saw someone do a gut lever?

Anyway, I got into the mood for a new bike and went to the shop where I used to hang out and bought a 2000 Huffy Enigma. It is a super nice bike but just doesn't handle the way my old Huffy does. I'm wondering now if I should just stick to riding my old bike for money now.

I have a few friends that are riding with me now as well as some neighborhood kids and I have somehow convinced them that we need to build a halfpipe on top of my trailer. We should have the beast built by this summer. Man, just like the old days.

Live to ride, ride to live.

If any of you other old school riders are near Macon county, Georgia I'd really like to hear from you.
