I have what I think is a 1956 or 57 girl's Schwinn 3 speed. RiA 2903 A is on the center bar. Also on the center bar it says made in England. Any ideas of what it's worth. It's in pretty good shape. by: 12.206.22.27
I don't think Western Auto ever sold Schwinn-built bikes. I think their Western Flyers were made by Cleveland Welding or one of those other "generic" bike makers. However, almost any 3-speed bike marked "Made In England", badged by Western Auto or any other American chain store was probably made by Raleigh. Yours is probably a Raleigh "Sports", if it has caliper brakes, a Sturmey-Archer rear hub, and 26" tires. You can probably get better info if you ask your question, with more detailed description, on the "English Roadster" list on this site. by: 66.108.82.196
Lots of companies made bikes for Western Auto. Made In England is the key here. It is probably a Raleigh or Hercules. If it has a Sturmy Archer hub, it will have the year on it. by: 138.26.156.139
